Jo McDonald
Jo McDonald is a Calgary-based acrylic landscape artist whose work explores the restorative power of nature. Inspired by the rivers, forests, mountains, and open spaces of Western Canada, she creates paintings that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with a sense of calm.
Working through thoughtful layers of colour, light, and atmosphere, Jo aims to capture not only the beauty of a place but also the emotions it evokes. Themes of resilience, hope, and quiet contemplation run throughout her work, reflecting a belief that nature has the ability to comfort, heal, and inspire.
Her hope is that each painting offers a peaceful refuge—bringing warmth, serenity, and a lasting connection to the natural world into the spaces of those who collect her work.
Jo is an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Jo has exhibited in various Federation of Canadian Artists juried shows and held a solo show with /Artwrk in Toronto.
